As part of our commitment to provide an industry leading platform to our customers, Glympse is pleased that the Glympse EnRoute Platform for Enterprise Customers continues to comply with the AICPA Security Trust Principles and Criteria for Security (SOC 2 Type 2).
What is SOC?
SOC for Service Organizations are assurance reports on the internal controls of service organizations. These reports help organizations looking to use an outsourced service like Glympse assess and address the associated risks. As more data has been moved to the cloud and with controls and transparency over an end users’ data being of paramount importance, data security and proper information security protocols have become increasingly important considerations for companies that do business with customers utilizing cloud-based platforms.
SOC 2 is considered the “gold standard” for security compliance for software-as-a-service (SaaS) companies in the US. In order to achieve SOC 2 certification, companies must submit to an independent audit that assesses one or more of five crucial factors relating to:
- Security
- Availability
- Processing Integrity
- Confidentiality
- Privacy
If the auditors determine that a company meets the strict requirements outlined by SOC 2 Type II standards, they are granted compliance certification.
Glympse and Data Security
As the industry leader in location-based customer experience (CX) solutions for Middle and Last Mile, we understand that our relationship with our customers is precipitated on trust and transparency when it comes to data security. Both our customers and their end users rely on our platform to keep their information secure, and without access to personal information we wouldn’t be able to offer the innovative customer experiences that have enabled us to build value-added relationships with so many companies that are leaders in their industries. At Glympse, we are committed to investing in security best practices to ensure that data stays safe.
According to Glympse’s VP of Engineering, John Gruender, “We are proud of our SOC 2 Type II certification for the Glympse platform, and we recognize that it is only a guidepost on the path to a more secure location-sharing experience. As our products continue to evolve, we will continue to incorporate the security factors assessed by the AICPA Security Trust Principles into the core values of our company, so that our customers’ privacy is always embedded within our journey.”
What does Glympse achieving SOC 2 Type II Certification mean for our customers and their end users?
Our customers and their end users will have access to the same powerful Glympse solutions as before, with the added comfort of knowing that our data security practices have withstood some of the most rigorous tests in the industry. Chris Ruff, CEO of Glympse said, “We see the SOC 2 Type II certification as a commitment to our clients and their customers that we will never sacrifice safety and data security as we continue to push the boundaries of controlled location sharing. The future success of location-based experiences depends on our ability to responsibly utilize data while maintaining procedures that rigorously protect our customers, and this recognition is an important part of that.”
As Glympse grows, we will continue to seek out visible methods to demonstrate our best-in-class data security and data management procedures, such as SOC 2, Type II certification. The need for better data security will never abate, but neither will our resolve to deliver a unique competitive edge for our clients while prioritizing data security and data privacy.
