Glympse, the leader in real-time location technology, today announced a new safety-first navigation solution that empowers steel, aluminum mills and other heavy-industry yards to boost safety, reduce driver dwell times and streamline operations with real-time navigation and visibility.

Using geofencing and routing utilizing private mapped yard layouts, Glympse provides turn-by-turn navigation directly to a driver’s smartphone in a web-browser, no app required. The directions are optimized for industrial environments, making it easier for drivers to follow instructions without distraction. Operations teams can also monitor ETAs in real time and reduce unnecessary radio or phone check-ins.
“Lost drivers can create traffic bottlenecks and delays,” said Chris Ruff, CEO and president of Glympse. “These all greatly affect dwell time, the amount of time a truck spends at the facility. Excessive dwell time has a tremendous impact on the bottom line of so many in the supply chain; wasted time for drivers, lost profits, accidents, angry drivers and more.”
The Glympse solution is a web-based solution that allows customers to provide their inbound drivers and visitors with turn-by-turn directions specific to their bill of lading—in the language their browser is set to. Through SMS text notifications, the driver is prompted to click on the link they were texted upon arriving onsite. They’re then delivered browser-based, turn-by-turn directions on to the yards for picking up the product.
In addition to providing visiting drivers with turn-by-turn directions, Glympse customers are provided with a back-office, intuitive dashboard. It offers helpful data and analytics, such as how long drivers spend in each yard or zone, time onsite, speed of vehicles, and driver feedback.

While safety is the top priority, Glympse also brings measurable efficiency improvements:
- Reduced yard dwell times
- Fewer misrouted pickups or deliveries
- Improved site flow and reduced operational burden
- Enhanced carrier experience and productivity
“By getting drivers to the right place safely, without relying on paper maps or guessing where to go, we’re helping companies reduce collisions, improve workflows, and build stronger relationships with their carriers,” added Ruff.
This solution is part of Glympse’s growing portfolio of yard and field logistics tools, built for complex use cases where safety, speed, and coordination all matter. To learn more visit: www.corp.glympse.com
