A few weeks back, we shared a blog post that shone a spotlight on one of our favorite videos featuring our CEO Chris Ruff, where he dives deeper on how location sharing can help retailers build smarter on-demand experiences. In honor of #ThrowbackThursday, we thought we’d take you back to the first video in this series, where Chris shares his view on why location matters for retailers so much in the first place. We asked:
What role does location play in how people interact?
“The power of the smartphone in our pockets, and other digital IoT devices we carry around, really make us constantly connected so that we have the power of information with us wherever we are going,” says Chris.
“Now, when you combine location with that you can provide a much stronger relationship between people, and between businesses and consumers.”
MarketingTech news reported, as of January 2018, that 73% of people now allow apps to access their location. Location matters for retailers and businesses now more than ever.
In our view, that number is only going to continue trending up.
According to Chris, location data will continuously transform:
- How we communicate
- How we shop
- How we share information with each other
Check out the video for all the details, including how voice assistance, machine intelligence, virtual reality, augmented reality and more will play a role!
